But that line wasn't funny right now because it is the truth to our predicament situation here in our beloved country. News are spinning out of control like wild fire, criminals become saints, laws had became another bad song that keep on playing in our head.
Looking back to some part of our recent history of crime fighting. Bibit and Chandra (bitchan) case, I could swear that when we heard that tape was played at the constitutional court I felt like the law in this country do not necessary guarantee justice. Susno, the same person that said "you are a gecko...and I am a crocodile", a perfect picture to describe on how people with power always look down on others, is working his way on becoming a saint.
PT. Lapindo Brantas, Bakrie's oil company that literally destroyed a whole city to the ground leaving thousands of people homeless and unemployed is collecting their insurance money while keeping the land that contains oil but doesn't have to pay any damages because his dear friend THE PRESIDENT....issue a decree that stated the destruction, pollution and possibly murders as a NATURAL DISASTER!
Justice had left the building my dear ladies and gentlemen....she'd just left.
There is no effort at all, not even an attempt to "uphold" justice by our law enforcement. For them "justice is business". It has price tag, discounts and it's negotiable.
But what happen to people who don't want to buy or can't afford them....they got bullet in their knees.
Soon this situation will escalate to another level, it will create a situation where people lost their faith in the government, especial law enforcement. Crime rate will increase, because people will take chances, they will gamble their life with the law. You all saw what had happened, police office being attacked by people, rallies became vandalism, robbery became more violent, and corruption became more systematic and sophisticated.
In France they got "french revolution" where they send all these elite bastards to guillotine, so did in Romania, Cuba, Philippine, it even happened in here in our own country, now we call it TIMOR LESTE. We lost Timor Leste not only because our government treat them like dirt during the Suharto regime, but because Timor Leste's people have balls to stand their ground to fight this in justice...and won their freedom.
And then came along Gayus and Ariel....just when we thought that the "fight" is about to break.
They has succeeded to play his role as the escape goat by being on the wrong place at the wrong time. Media attention are completely diverted, no more passion on fighting corruption because the sex tapes are more passionate. No more interest on fixing our law enforcement, and tax agency because Gayus traveling agenda are more jaw dropping.
It's hard to turn our head from this information, because that the only thing that we saw on TV and newspapers. The rest are either bimbos actress fighting each others or a soap opera about a daughter who tortures her own mother. There is no escape from this. It's like standing in a crowded bar and choosing between beers or wine for a person who doesn't drink.
We are being directed.
The question will be, "being directed to what?"
Here it goes. This administration will reach it end of the line on 2014. SBY's will need to straighten up his act together otherwise his party will lose their support for their next attempt on running for presidency. The easiest way to win the next election (who ever that is) is to have a "hero" figure. A figure that can connect with majority of voters. How to do that? Simple, create a situation that so mess up with media exposure on those garbage news, exposes more of the government's incompetency. Basically create a situation that will make people to "think", "ENOUGH OF THIS!", or "WE NEED SOMEONE THAT COULD TAKE ACTIONS!".
By the time we reach to this point, one "hero" will come out of nowhere, could be one familiar face or a completely new one. It doesn't matter. This so-cal-hero will take some action a very popular one. He/she would send some people to prison, or issue a new popular regulation or maybe simply by making one controversial public statement that connect with majority of voters. We might not remember this, but this exact same situation happened to us during Megawati administration. Her government also corroded with corruption issues, human right issue and scandals. Take a guess who the "hero" came out of nowhere at that precise moment...yup its SBY. For them it's like a poker game, they are waiting to see who has the upper hand, while keep on firing bluffs.
Unfortunately, the dealer is cheating. He still hiding his best card while making eyes with his accomplish....and the rest of the players cannot do anything but bluffing.
Like any other opportunistic, one inconsiderate "public officer" started to make their moves while we are swamped with this garbage. The head of the House of Representatives declaring to go ahead with building the brand new office with swimming pool and spa, even though he knew that 90% of the entire nation's population against it. The police declaring their new "remuneration" salary, so did the attorney general even when it so obvious that they haven't earn it yet.
You see, it's already started. The incumbent has started to make compromises. It is necessary because even though his political party is loosing its popularity among voters and not to mention that it doesn't have any prominent candidate for presidency, he still in-charge now. He need to make sure that the "law" still on his side, or at least will not "bite" him if somehow his political party lost the next election. He has to give them that rise.
It is win-win solution for them, they're all happy.
I can tell that right now you have this feeling of disorientation like having to many information to the point that you no longer know which one to follow. It doesn't matter. These news are just news. They were meant to do that. Just take a look at the owners of the two biggest news TV stations, YES! you know those two fellas the bearded one and the one with the long lower jaw, they both running for office in 2014. They both have their own agendas.
My suggestion is, be prepare, save your energy, emotions and attention to something that matters more to you, like your family for example or your friends, your co-workers or people around you with real problems.
Don't let those rubbish get to the people you care the most, but if it does....it might be the time for us to fight back.
